Description
Column hydraulic press is a kind of hydraulic machine used to transfer energy to achieve a variety of process according to PASCAL’s principle. It is composed of the main machine, dynamic system and hydraulic control system. There are many kinds of hydraulic machines, such as valve hydraulic press, column hydraulic press, press for hydraulic engineering, etc.
Features
- Cartridge valve is applied in this column hydraulic press.
- It is equipped with PC programmable control unit and independent electric-hydraulic dynamic system. Besides, the button panel realizes central control.

Classification
According to machine structure, it can be categorized into four column hydraulic machine and single column type.
- Single Column Type
In this kind of column hydraulic press, one side around the column is closed as a wall, which can bear the machine weight. It is welded all around and eqipped with hydraulic system inside. Mobile button station comes into central controlling panel for adjusting, manually or semi-automatically controlling this machine.
- Four Column Hydraulic Machine
In this machine, hydraulic oil is transmitted to the integrated cartrige valve by the oil pump. Then, the oil is distributed to the upper part and lower part of the oil cylinder with one-way valve and overflow valve. The hydraulic press works on the basis of the PASCAL's law.
- Stretching Column Hydraulic Press
This column hydraulic press is equipped with combination mold, capable of punching all kinds of bores and slots for sliding window or casement window. Customers can change the molds easily and quickly. Machine frame and worktable enjoy high precision, good rigidity and resistance to lateral force.
Application
It is widely used in processing metal sheets, including correcting, pressing, forming, cold-extrusion, etc. Besides, it is capable of pressing metal sheets in various ways, such as stamping, bending, stretching, etc. The column hydraulic press is provided with functions like displaying stroke and pressures.

Working Principle
Suppose the area of large plunger is S2, while the area of small plunger is S1; and the hydraulic pressure on the S2 and S1 respectively are F2 and F1. Then, we will have the following equality according to the PASCAL's principle:F2 / S2 = F1 / S1 = p; F2 = F1 (S2 / S1). In this equation, there is an indication that the moving distance of large plunger (L2) and that of small plunger (L1) meets following rule: L2 = L1 (S1 / S2). The hydraulic system in the column hydraulic press works in a airtight container, so, the oil is distributed to each part of the oil tank.
Maintenance and Repair
- Check the oil pool, oil level and oil leveler and make sure they meet regulated standards.
- Check whether the ground lead in the motor is loose, fall-off or damaged. If so, ask specialists for maintenance.
- When starting the hydraulic pump of culumn hydraulic press, check if there is any blackage or leakage in sealed parts and pipes.
- Check whether the limit switch works well and positioning is normal.
- To keep an eye on the temperature rise of the moving parts and make sure that noise generateds when working is normal.
- Keep mechanical joints clean and well-lubricated so that they can work flexibly.
- Check the cylinders, motor bases and foot screws and make sure that all screws are tightly fixed.
- Cleaning the oil pump and filter of the column hydraulic press.
- Keep oil pipes clean, unblocked and well-lubricated. Besides, oil leakage should be immediately solved.
- Sweep dust on the machine body and clean out the motor.
- Be sure that the electronic circuit is neat, reasonably laid out and tightly connected.
